I was at the Verizon Store yesterday getting my new Droid Incredible and that is what they told me. I have a family share plan with 1400 minutes and have just added unlimited e-mail and web for $30. They told me not to bother with the Canada option until i needed it and then drop it after I return

The only plan I was aware of that still existed was a totally different plan than I currently have which require me to switch back before 30 days was up. DO you have a link to this $20 a month plan? It would be perfect for the times when I'm in Canada for a couple of weeks or so.
