That's pretty much what I figured, last time I stayed there it worked okay,
but then I was using a different laptop, but things may have changed since
then. Yes I did send via Webmail and it worked okay.

I was getting these error messages when trying to use the WiFi and Outlook Express when I stayed in a motel last night, any ideas?

[IBWiFi] Re: Problem inputting the KEY Number
Jerry
A couple of times when I have encountered this problem on other folks' computers, it is because they have an older operating system that has not been updated for the later WiFi security encryption.
For example, my Travel Buddy uses an old HP laptop running Win XP and it has not been updated like forever (don't ask why!). It will not do WPA or WPA personal, but will do WEP.
That may be your problem.

Re: [IBWiFi] Problem inputting the KEY Number
Hello
Are you using WPA or WPA2 encryption on the router? If so try changing to WEP and it should work.

I have an older laptop running Windows 98SE that uses a C130 802.11b Wireless Cardbus Card.
I recently upgraded my Modem/Router in my home because of a failure, the Key on the new router
is a shorter number by two digits than what my laptop requires so it won't let me logon to the router. Any thoughts?
I wanted to use the old laptop while my newer one gets repaired, it worked fine on an open system
at the motel that I recently stayed at.

Re: [IBWiFi] Problem inputting the KEY Number
Jerry,
Your old laptop is probably trying to use 10 digit WEP security, while
the new router is probably set to use WPA, which allows shorter keys.
WEP maybe the only security the laptop supports, but look to see if
you can change the key mode to WPA or WPA II. If not, you will have to
change the router to use WEP and a different key that your laptop can
deal with.

Jon,
It is not free. I used it for a year free. It took me a year to figure out that it was his. I asked him about it and asked if he would like for me to help him with the bill. He said yes. He and I agreed upon $25.00 per month.

Do you have his modem and router addresses? This is what you will need
if there is an issue. Login and pws will help.

Our home DSL is through Verizon, and they have provided me with a
program, "Vz In-Home Agent," which allows me to re-set and re-boot the
wireless router from my computer. If he's on Verizon, you might be able
to get this. If he's with another provider, they may have something
similar....
