Hello
Are you using WPA or WPA2 encryption on the router? If so try changing to WEP and it should work.

Subject: [IBWiFi] Problem inputting the KEY Number
I have an older laptop running Windows 98SE that uses a C130 802.11b Wireless Cardbus Card.
I recently upgraded my Modem/Router in my home because of a failure, the Key on the new router
is a shorter number by two digits than what my laptop requires so it won't let me logon to the router. Any thoughts?
I wanted to use the old laptop while my newer one gets repaired, it worked fine on an open system
at the motel that I recently stayed at.
