There is no evidence that Verizon cares, or has ever cared, about
folks tethering their cell phones.
For years, people on these forums have been telling each other to
limit their tethered usage, that Verizon will eventually catch
them, etc. It appears that there is nothing behind these warning
other than baseless speculation. I tethered our last PDA/phone
for two years.
It is technically possible for a carrier to determine whether
traffic is from a tethered phone, whether you use PdaNet,
EasyTether, or simply create a dialup connection with you phone.
